Jim's Astroverse Studios

Welcome to Jim's Astroverse Studios. Come join me on my adventure in the hobby of amateur astrophotography. I'll be imaging my way through this crazy hobby and sharing my experiences with anyone who may be interested. All data collected for all images are captured with my equipment and processed to completion all done myself.

          Thanks for your interest

   Astrophotography and how it works.

Images are brought to life in processing the digital data collected by cameras that are connected to telescopes. One might think that the telescope and camera would be your most important piece of equipment. They are important of course, but to bring the clarity, crispnness and the perfect round stars from edge to edge you'll need a very accurate tracking mount (tripod and computerized electic motors) to control your scope and camera. The reason being is most of my subframes ( individual images ) that are collected are at a lenghth of ten minutes of open camera shutter. A quality telescope mount is necessary to capture data with no blur keeping all parameters in order to achieve a final image with no artifacts. After fine tuning equipment data is gathered and stacked together to make one image.
